Bats are beneficial to us, A single bat can eat as many as 1000 mosquitoes in a single night! Sometimes a small colony of bats can go un noticed in a home. White tails are creatures of habbit. A magnifisant and beautiful creature to watch.
On the other hand, some people find them anoying. They eat shrubbs, flowers, and cause several car collisions. Durring the mating period, called the rutt, risk of car deer crashes is the worst. This occurs durring the fall.
Theres realy little one can do about crashes except watch how you drive, and cull the herd so there are fewer animals. A deer fence will also slow down activity.
Shrubbs and flowers can be spr…

Coyote attacks in los angeles are few and far between. The fires in southern calfornia have left much of the coyote hunting grounds un huntable. I predict 2008-2009 to be a bad year. And its on past years I base this prediction. The cedar fires of 2004 had me back in san diego in 2005 trappng coyotes. Then in 2006 again. In a 30 day period in 2005 I trapped 150 coyotes arround homes near the airport in san diego. Anytime animal control now has coyote certified feld reps all over the country. whe…

Moles are a shy animal, staying under ground as much as possible. To be quite honest with you, I cant think of any benefit the moles have to offer. As the moles search for insects and larve under the grass, they leave the tell tale sign of sod being pushed up in a weaving pattern all over the yard. When the lawn mower comes through it makes a mess of the yard. Tunnels usually originate in wooded areas, which is most likely where the field operator will find the main tunnel.

Opossums are a very unique animal in more ways than one! Sometimes mistaken for a large rat, opossums can fend off an attack with a neet trick called ....... playing opossum. They can slow down there metabolism, cool there body temp, lay motionless, and, with the help of a gland under the tail, can smell as well as look, dead and rotten! Most animals will seek a meal elsewhere. Opossums have oposing thumbs to walk on thin fences, and small tree branches. A female opossum will give live birth to…

Coyotes are awsome to see in the wild! Take your eyes off him for a second and it blends with the background and vanishes. Coyotes have speed and cunning to work as a team, collecting food, and comunicating with each other with yips and howels to keep track of pack members and pups. They are generaly a shy animal and want no human contact.
Coyotes in the city are another kind. They steal everything from rubber hoses, to sponges and shoes right off your porch. They will eat dog food while you wat…
