Bats are beneficial to us, A single bat can eat as many as 1000 mosquitoes in a single night! Sometimes a small colony of bats can go un noticed in a home. But other times, noises in the attic or walls can drive the home owner to the verge of insanity! The strong smell of amonia will permiate the home to the point where its noticable on the street in front of the home if left un checked long enough. This is the build up of urine, and fecies left by the bats. I ve put down some facts about bats, and what we do to remove them and correct the situation to help you better understand.

Bats are not rodents, although they may resemble mice, they are more related to the primates.
A professional wildlife controller can remove the bats using one way doors in most cases. This is a great system of bat removal, as it keeps the bats out of the home, but still in the area, to continue ridding the area of mosquitoes.
Most species of bats only have one offspring a year. Nursery colonies of little brown bats can have 1000 members or more! The larger brown bats may have only 50-60. And a colony of males (which do not participate in raising the young) Will be 2-10 in members.
Most bats live 20-30 years,
Bats will follow air flow. Whch is how they get in rooms arround the house from the attic.(in the walls)
The missing screen on an opened window, will also invite trouble. Juvinile bats make mistakes, and these are what I generaly find inside peoples living space. An adult bat avoids contact with people.

Bats are not blind. They may not have good vision, but there eyes work. Just shine a flash light on a bat and watch him move!

Distinguishing bat quano from mouse droppings for the first time is easy. Just push down on the dropping with something semi solid and it will powder almost without effort. The diet of a bat is mainly insects with an exo-skeliton. and no fiber to hold it together. A mouse dropping on the other hand, will flatten at best.

Bats do have enemies! Any flying or climbing carnivore or omnivore will kill and eat a bat.Among these, are snakes, cats, raccoons, owls, opossums, and many more!

Professional bat removal should come with a guarantee! An exclusion of a colony of bats should remove the colony, and repair the defect in the building which allowed them access.
